My Principles

I believe that people, projects, partnerships and organisations only truly succeed once a principle based vision is in place - and that both principle and vision are integral to both strategy and day to day delivery. By developing ways of living and working through principles first - anyone can achieve higher levels of satisfaction, happiness and effectiveness for themselves and those around them.

Over thirty years I have been privileged and delighted to work at a strategic level with hundreds of people of all seniority and from many sectors of society who have helped me understand how these principles might be distilled and then brought to bear. Based on this generosity and significant further research and practice I believe now is the time for me to share these powerful, practical and realistic approaches with others.

"A principle based approach is one where a set of enduring core values have been deeply considered and tested - and from which all actions are first imagined and then delivered.

It is not a "quick fix" but equally, using the right techniques, it does not need to be a lengthy or expensive process. Once established, it frees the mind, soul, body or organisation to achieve incredible things."

The difference between coaching and counselling:

Coaching looks consistently forward at what can be done differently from now. It does not attend to the reasons for past experience but explores the opportunities and options ahead.

Counselling looks to analysis and the reasons and background to issues. It is based on those aspects of the past that influence the present and seeks to re-script the beliefs and behaviour that arise.

Whilst coaching takes into account those things that have happened - its primary focus is on what can now be done.
